Once again it has been a great week in the magical town of Vanderhoof. Its beautiful and I love seeing the Lord's hand in the work.
We were able to see our investigator, Debbie. It was a great lesson. Sometimes its so hard to bring the spirit into the lesson with her but this time we went in with a game plan to read Moroni 7 where it talks about how miracles have not stopped just because Jesus Christ is not on earth anymore and then we read in Acts chapter 5 where the Apostles did miracles just like Jesus Christ did after He had left. We had Sister Arnold with us and she shared a couple Bible videos and the spirit was so strong and I know that Debbie felt it! She wasn't able to come to church because she is off on a holiday but she is moving into town at the end of the month so that will help her so much because closer to ward members.
We were able to find some really cool people to teach this week! One day we were walking around town and we were walking by this park and there were a few people in there. But I told Sister Collier how awkward I feel talking to people in parks... But she just said "Lets overcome the natural man!" And we went in there knowing that God would help and bless us! After a couple awkward conversations we talked to this really sweet young mom with the cutest little girl ever! She had never talked to missionaries before which was so surprising because usually people have met us so many times! We had such a good conversation with her and she told us that we had a "really cool light" to us and how she thinks that's cool how we talk to people and share that light. The light of Christ is awesome! :) We weren't able to meet up with her this week because she got sick but hopefully this next week!!
This week, while we were taking Sister Arnold home from a lesson, we saw a huge black bear in the middle of the road. It was a little scary because we were pretty close to our cabin. Then when we were driving into town a day later and we saw another big bear! That makes my bear count 12 since being up here in Vanderhoof! Then last night, right before we were about to go to bed we got a text from a ward member that the Northern Lights were out! So we went outside on our porch to see them. They were pretty faint but we saw them! Then we heard this weird noise and ran back inside because we didn't want to be bear chow! Always an adventure in Vanderhoof! I feel so blessed to be serving up here! I love it and I love The Lord! Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers! Have a great week!
Love,
Sister Lofthouse
