Its been another great week in the Hoof! We also didn't get any transfer news so both me and Sister Tennison will be staying for another transfer. I love Vanderhoof and the people up here so much so I'm really happy!!
We have been seeing our area blessed so much and it's amazing to see The Lord's hand each day. On Tuesday we taught Amanda about Tithing and fast offerings. She accepted it so well and when we committed her to live it once she was baptized she said "I'll keep all the laws that my Heavenly Father wants me to." Wow, that girl has faith! She is still set to get baptized on the 4th of July. Continue to keep her in your prayers! She is going through some hard times with illnesses in her family.
Also on Tuesday we met with another investigator named Britnie. We talked to her in a store in town and she has the cutest little girls ever! Her husband is actually cousins with our ward mission leader! :) We had a great lesson on the Restoration and the spirit was super strong. She also committed to a date to be baptized. Also, sister missionaries helped her mom quit smoking years ago! :) However, her dad's family is Mennonite and belongs to a church here in town who are pretty Anti towards us. She has faced some opposition and feels like she now needs to go back to her dad's church. Sister Tennison and I believe this is just the way Heavenly Father wants her to receive the knowledge that these things are true. We will continue to try to work with her and teach her!
This week we also went on exchanges with the sisters in Prince George. I was with Sister Ovard and we were talking to people in stores and ran into a former investigator that I have taught once but lost contact with. She invited us to come over the next day and right there in the store we talked to her about baptism and she said she feels like she needs to get baptized again because she doesn't feel like be baptized as a baby counts. The next day we had a great lesson and she is really going to think about baptism. Her husband may oppose but we are praying that his heart is softened. She is definitely praying and thinking about baptism. We tried setting her for a date and she asked if there would be a lot of people there because she gets nervous. It may be hard for her to get to church because she has anxiety with people but her cousin is a member so hopefully that will help! Pray for Anne! :)
Yesterday the cutest little 18 year old showed up to church with one of her friends in the ward. Her name is Grace and she is totally truth seeking! In Sunday School we talked about the Restoration and she teared up when we talked about the 1st vision. The McKee family invited us all over in the evening for a lesson and dinner. Grace enjoyed the experience she had at church. She has been to every church here in Vanderhoof (which is like 20 or more). She received a Book of Mormon a year ago from Sisters over in Prince George and has read the whole thing! We went over briefly the Restoration and she was asking some good questions. She was excited to pray about everything. We are going over tonight to teach her again! :)
Things really have been going well! Sister Tennsion has been sick but has been a trooper. She got really dizzy and light-headed during a lesson and we had to stop to get her a glass of milk and it was kind of funny because there were lots of people at the lesson. But at least she didn't throw up at this one!! Haha. We have been having fun together! I just love Vanderhoof and Canada so much. The Lord has been so merciful to us up here. Our Heavenly Father is real and knows us personally. The Book of Mormon is true and it brings us closer to Him and to Jesus Christ. Happiness comes from following Christ's Gospel! Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers. I hope you have a great week!
Love,
Sister Lofthouse
