August 4, 2015: #Vanderhoof4lyfe

Hello Friends and Family!

Its been such a crazy week in the Hoof! First off, we got transfer calls!! I'm going to be staying in Vanderhoof and Sister Tennison is headed to the Lower Main Land. It will be sad to say good-bye. She is lots of fun! Sister Collier is coming up here! She is from Hawaii and came out with Sister Zundel. She is actually coming up here from Surrey 3rd so that will be really cool! I'm excited for the new transfer! :)

It's been a really good week with some amazing lessons. We taught the Lank Family (A mom with 2 teenage boys) and the Ward Mission Leader from the Vanderhoof ward came with us. He was sharing really awesome personal experiences of how he knows there is a prophet on earth and it just brought the spirit so strongly! It was the most spiritual Restoration we have taught in a while. The boys came to a sports night that we had with the wards! We also have a really cool lesson with our investigator Marian. She is a 24 year old 1st Nations lady and has come to church a couple times but it's been hard to meet up for an actually lesson. So we finally met up and she was just telling us how much she loves church and how she is trying to get her family and friends to come check it out. We taught half the Restoration and then later that night she texted us and said that she had read through the pamphlet like 10 times and did the additional study in it! We met with her again yesterday and we set her for a baptismal date in September! We also had our investigator, Debbie, come to church with her little girl. Debbie has been learning from missionaries for a while now and still has quite a few doubts but this was her first time to a regular church service and she really enjoyed it! The work is picking up a bit and its awesome!!

This week me, Sister Tennison, and Amanda had a really spiritual experience that I want to share... After that lesson with the Lank family we were all feeling awesome from the spirit and we drove Amanda back to her car that was parked at the park. When we pulled up, there were a couple police men looking into her car... We were running late to get home so we just drove away but a few minutes later she called us and said that someone called the police because there was a man in the driver's seat in her car doing suspicious behavior... But her car was still locked and she had the only set of keys with her the whole night and nothing was mission from the car. So she drives home and is so freaked out that she won't even go in her apartment... She was just sitting outside in her backyard in the dark because she was just getting a super bad feeling about going in. So we made some phone calls and got someone to pick her up and let her stay at their house for the night. Well, by this time me and Sister Tennison are also getting a little freaked out... So we had the people that picked her up stop by to give us a blessing and it honestly was the most spiritual experience I have had on my mission. The blessings were incredible. So much comfort and instruction came in them. In Amanda's it said that there was no one of flesh and blood in her car. That is was a adversary out trying to scare her. Satan knows how much good she can do! It was an interesting night but I know God's power is real and that we have no need to fear! :)

I'm so excited to continue to work up here in Vanderhoof. The area is being so blessed right now. Amanda's friend Tyler is getting baptized this Saturday! I'm so grateful that the Lord chooses to use the weak and the simple to do his work. I'm so thankful for my calling to serve. It's the best thing I have ever done and nothing has brought me so much happiness. Heavenly Father is real and very aware of us and our needs. Life is a lot better when we rely on him! That's my goal this transfer, to rely more on the Lord. Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers! Have a great week! :)

Love,
Sister Lofthouse
