Its been another great week in The Hoof! Sister Tennison is feeling so much better so that is a great miracle!
Amanda is basically our partner in crime. She loves to be out with us no matter which phase of missionary work it is! Her parents continue to be open to us as well and we started teaching them the Restoration. :) One evening this week we were out with Amanda and she remembered a friend of hers that we could go and teach. Her friend, Jasmine, is a 17 year old girl who is 7 months pregnant. We visited with her and taught The Plan of Salvation and she really enjoyed it. She has also been to church once with Amanda a long time ago. After we left, Amanda got a text from her saying that she felt pure. So she definitely felt the spirit! She committed to a date to be baptized but her boyfriend is super controlling so that might hold her back....
Another day we were out with Amanda and we tried to stop by a potential that has been on my mind for a while now. Well, she wasn't home and we were at an apartment complex and Amanda remembered that another one of her friends lives there. So we go and knock on his door and he was home and let us in. He is this old guy in his late 50's and he is super funny and slightly crazy! :) He has come to church before and has met with sisters in the past. He also works for some members that have taught him a lot about the church and he really likes them. He has been to all different churches but he really likes The Mormon church and he said that he "wants to be a mob boss for the Mormon Mafia." He was pretty funny and he was telling us how he has a baptism date of September 15th and at first we thought he was kidding but he was seriously! He had even been smoke free for a week! He said since the water didn't boil when Amanda got baptized that it wouldn't for him either! Haha. He is off on a fishing trip with some members this week but he is planning on coming to church next week!
This is the last full week of the transfer and its a little sad because I love Vanderhoof! People are so nice up here and its always an adventure. I'm so grateful that the Lord has called me to serve a mission because I have learned so much. I truly took the Gospel and the knowledge I grew up with for granted. Don't take it for granted! :) The Lord is good and merciful to us. Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers!
Love,
Sister Lofthouse
