March 2, 2016: A Great Week in Surrey!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all doing well! It has been a great week in Surrey! So many miracles and right now we have 3 baptismal dates for the end of March! Its been awesome!

This Tuesday we decided to drop by this potential that we met at the bus exchange and she wasn't very open but we offered service to come help her clean her house because she has some health problems. Well we knocked and she lets us in and we help her fold her laundry. We got talking and turns out her favorite Aunt and Uncle are members in another part of BC. She doesn't believe in God or anything. But she was curious because we were talking about how we come out on missions and are called by a prophet. Then we got to teach the Restoration! We also set her to be baptized on March 28th so that was a miracle!

Then we got to teach Elise again! She is doing great! We taught The Gospel of Jesus Christ and it was the most spiritual lesson I have ever had on my mission. She was explaining faith and repentance like it was coming strait out of Preach My Gospel! Then we were all able to share personal experiences we have had from the Holy Ghost and then Elise started to explain how she knows that it was God that put us in each other's path when we first talked to her and how she feels like she has had a good life but that she has been missing something deeper and that when she comes to church she feels like she is home and she gets a feeling like "Why have you been gone for so long?" Amazing! Then I asked her if she thinks this is God's path for her and she said yes! She really has been so prepared that hear the Gospel! We invited her to be baptized and she didn't quite say yes but she said she could start working for a date... Which is March 21st. So we also taught The Word of Wisdom and she was so accepting! She said with a smile, "Well, I have a lot to work on!" She drinks coffee and smokes a few cigarettes in the evening so we told her we could get her a blessing. So the next day we came back with the Ward Mission Leader and he gave her a blessing and it was really cool because it said that her ancestors on the other side would be there supporting her because they know through her they will be blessed. Then yesterday at church I asked her how her coffee was that morning and she said she didn't have any! Amazing! She really is the coolest lady ever! She is going to be baptized in March!

Also this week I went on exchanges with one of my sister training leaders, Sister Merritt, and we were planning on seeing some less actives but everything kept falling through... So we decided to knock on some houses by there and we met this one guy that was like "Oh, I've been looking for a church! Come back in a couple hours!" His name is Graham and he is Fijian-Indian with a Catholic background. So we come back with a member and taught the Restoration and set him to be baptized on March 28th! Then Sister Merritt explained how we help people prepare for baptism and asked if it would be alright to come visit him and teach more a few times a week. He said it would be fine if he get us some coffee next time. And the member that was with us was like "We don't drink coffee!!" And Graham was like "We don't drink coffee?" So it was funny because he included himself. But we explained the Word of Wisdom a little and I asked if he thinks he could live it and he said yes! He is also normal and owns a house and a car and stuff! Unfortunately something came up and he couldn't come to church yesterday but he planning on next week!

We are teaching some awesome people right now! I feel so blessed to teach so many prepared people. This really is the Lord's work. People are kept from the truth because they don't know where to find it. I love you all so much! Thank you for your love and support and prayers! I hope you are all doing well! Have a great week!!

Love,
